Important: Safeguarding Awareness

Newry Cathedral News

As part of the new Safeguarding Process, new Safeguarding Awareness sessions were introduced in 2018 and all volunteers in the Parish are required to undertake these new sessions.

This process will ensure that all volunteers in the parish are fully briefed on the new procedures and also enable us, the safeguarding leaders to compile an accurate list of those active in ministry within the parish.

Any current volunteers working in ministry within the parish must have attended a safeguarding awareness session.

If you are a new volunteer, or an existing volunteer who attended safeguarding awareness prior to 2018, please come to the next session. Four sessions are planned for 2019 and further dates may be arranged where there is demand.

Remaining sessions:

Monday 6th May at 8pm – Newry Parish Centre – The Mall

Monday 9th September at 8pm – Newry Parish Centre – The Mall

Monday 4th November at 8pm – Newry Parish Centre – The Mall

The sessions will last one hour approximately.
