Church leaders want churches reopened for prayer

Ireland’s Church leaders have said it is too early for collective worship to resume but, in this morning’s Irish Times, Archbishop Eamon Martin has appealed for church buildings to re-open for private prayer as soon as is safely possible

“When you lock the doors of a church there is a visceral symbolic statement being made. …Even though the numbers will probably be extremely small, I would really like (it if) the churches in Northern Ireland were open for private worship.” – Archbishop Eamon Martin
