All babies must be registered for baptism in the Cathedral Parish Office, Hill Street, Newry, not in St. Catherine’s. The reason is that the official baptismal register is kept in the Cathedral Parish Office.
When a baby is to be baptised, please call at the Cathedral Parish Office. The Church in which the baby is to be baptised will be recorded.
You will receive a card in the Cathedral Parish Office which you must complete and hand in to the Cathedral Parish Office, not St. Catherine’s. The details on this card will be recorded in the official register once the baptism has taken place.
The Cathedral Parish Office will inform St. Catherine’s, by e-mail, of baptisms booked to take place in their Church.
